Kadakampally Surendran, the tourism minister of Kerala explained on Tuesday that the edition of Kerala Travel Mart or KTM 2018 will take place from September 27th till 30th, in the upcoming year in Kochi. The three-day conclave, hosted by KTM Society in collaboration with Kerala Tourism, will be promoting Malabar Tourism in the event as the principal theme. To quote the minister, “There is a big scope for growth of tourism in Malabar with the inauguration of the Kannur airport next year. The government is planning to implement many projects in Malabar, the main one being the “Nadhithada” tourism project that focuses on nine rivers in northern Kerala. The government has allotted `38.5 crore for this project.”
The exhibition is expected to have approximately four hundred stalls with a wide range of packages, products, and services provided by businesses and entrepreneurs worldwide. Public Private Partnership or PPP would be the main highlight of KTM 2018. It works as a platform for the stakeholders like the tour operators, resorts, home stays, hotels, houseboats, Ayurveda resorts and cultural art centers having productive interactions and meet ups with buyers from all over the world, Mr Surendran said.
The nine point charter, ‘Agenda 9’ for action calls for actions to undertake waste management, endorse organic farming, resourceful usage of energy and wide utilization of local produce and products.
