Kingsmill Resort invites visitors to its expansive indoor pool

warm-indoor-poolMost of us love water, except when it’s in the form of sleet, snow and slush. And there is nothing better than warm water – the kind where you don’t flinch when it gets to “the historic triangle.” Yeah, that warm, especially when it’s freezing outside.

Those in the know know that after the Ho-Ho-Ho of the holidays comes the “Oh, Yeah…” of a relaxing overnight winter escape at Kingsmill Resort on the James River in iconic Williamsburg. Skip the crowds and enjoy an expansive indoor pool (where the water is always a non-flinching 85 degrees) and brand new game room to keep the family entertained. The only ice that is allowed on these escapes is in select drinks and cocktails.

Of course, there are other soothing waters, such as the new modern million-dollar spa with couples’ rooms and in-spa dining. Reclusive “quiet” rooms for ladies and gentlemen, the new facility borrows elements and textures from the fabled landscape, such as river rocks and natural lighting and colors. Naturally the spa enjoys stunning vistas of the ultimate water in the area, the historic James River.

Overnight rates begin at $144 a night with advance purchase from January 3 through March 31, 2016, in a one-bedroom condo with private wood-burning fireplace* (in addition to regular heat), free Wi-Fi, free parking and free shuttle service within the resort and to select Williamsburg locations – as well as the pool, biking and tennis.

Spa packages start at $299 a night for two people in a one-bedroom condo with private fireplace* and a choice of two spa services, as well as unlimited access to the fitness room and indoor pool, shuttle service, and other select amenities.

Kingsmill Resort is an AAA Four Diamond condo resort and member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Located on the James River off I‐64 between Richmond and Norfolk the property is within minutes from Williamsburg’s numerous destinations including Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, The College of William & Mary, Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center.

*Kingmill resort will provide free firewood and even light the fire for guests.
