The 27th Lampung Krakatau Festival will take place in Lampung, Indonesia. It’s a beautiful province situated on the eastern tip of Sumatra Island. This festival will start from Aug. 25th and continue 27th with the expectation that the event will become a key tourist attraction.
“We hope the festival will be one of the national tourism icons,” said Lampung Governor Muhammad Ridho Ficardo in Jakarta on Monday.
On Monday, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya and Ridho Ficardo declared the event publicly that will take place in the provincial capital of Bandar Lampung and South Lampung regency. More than 30,000 visitors are going pour in the festival.
Some of the attractions of the festival include Krakatau Tour, which will encourage festivalgoers to explore many islands that came into being after the 1883 huge eruption of Mount Krakatau.
This eruption is still remembered as one of the most deadly volcanic eruptions in the world, killing approximately 36,000 people.
Side by side, a tourism expo will also be staged by the organizers at the event. Also, art and cultural performances, a cultural parade and a photo exhibition will remain as added attractions.
In the meantime, Arief appreciated the Lampung administration for arranging the festival mentioning that it would display the beautiful natural resources and cultural performances of the province.
