In order to build this, Gold Coast Tourism and Hostelworld have collaboarted to construct a sand made hostel on Kurrawa Beach. The prime mission of this hostel is to endorse the city. Next week, the hostel will be opened for just three days.
There will be two accommodation spaces in the sand hostel for the visitors who love grainy surroundings. There is an eight bed dormitory and one private double room.
From next week Wednesday, bookings for the sand hostel will be opened at Hostelworld.com by paying $7.50 per night along with food and drink.
Organizers also mentioned that the guests who are not willing to stay overnight at the hostel are more than welcomed to have a look at the amenities and listen to the live music presented at the beachfront lounge and bar when the hostel opens from September 20th to 22nd. Besides, visitors can indulge in beach volleyball, surf lessons, beach yoga and sand sculpting classes along with food trucks.
Jon Dowding is the production designer of this novel concept who also worked on films including Mad Max and The Blue Lagoon.
Denis Masoud, the world champion sand sculptor is building the sand structure for this hostel which will use about 24 tonnes of sand.
