Los Angeles bound United Airlines plane UA840 turned back and made an emergency landing at the Sydney Airport on Monday 4th July. The flight had to return to the Sydney Airport around 11:13am after it encountered a possible bird strike. The flight took off from Sydney on Monday 4th July.
The Boeing 777 was carrying almost 308 passengers and crew members. The flight had to make an emergency landing soon after it took off.
The flight had to be cancelled after the possible bird strike occurred. The airline authorities apologized for the inconvenience and promised to accommodate the passengers on the next available flight.
The pilot informed the passengers that there was some issue with the plane, and he also informed that they were returning to Sydney to make an emergency landing.
The aircraft dumped the fuel before making the emergency landing.
Passengers of the flight stated that the flight hit a bird during takeoff and the crew of the flight spotted the damage soon.
All the passengers and the crew members were safe after the landing.
