This year’s La Cita de las Americas, an invitation-only unique travel conference that aims to connect travel industry professionals to boost inbound travel to the U.S., will be taking place August 30 through September 1 at the Trump National Doral. Attendees from key markets in Latin America and the Caribbean will have the opportunity to engage key industry professionals with one-on-one 15-minute meetings that are proven to establish fruitful business-producing relationships.
“La Cita recognizes the important and influential role that the Latin American community has in South Florida,” says Managing Director Rick Still. “With Miami being the number one city for Latin American travel, it is the perfect place to attract suppliers, buyers and marketing services organizations who realize the tremendous value of the LATAM and Caribbean markets.”
Delegates from around the world come prepared to meet with the right buyers and sellers that will take their businesses to the next level. Last year’s conference in Boca matched 200 travel industry suppliers with 110 travel industry buyers from all over Latin America.
“When it comes to inbound international visitors, Latin America is a major part of Florida’s future,” said Alfredo Gonzalez, Vice President of Sales and International Development for Visit Florida. “Of the overseas visits to Florida in 2014, 4 of the top 5 countries generating travelers to Florida are from Latin America.”
Nationally, Latin America’s travel and tourism industry contributes more than 387 billion dollars to the U.S. GDP each year. By 2024, it is expected to grow to just short of 600 billion U.S dollars, quantifying the major influence Latin America has on the entire country.
“At La Cita, we mirror the Latin American culture by focusing on establishing meaningful business relationships based on mutual trust and appreciation,” says Director of Operations, Matt Still. “Over the years we have attracted strong industry support and have established a reputation for being the place where relationships are the priority.”
