Barcelona’s famed academy is the envy of the footballing world for developing talent, and youngsters can discover just what it takes to be the best by taking part in the Official Barcelona Junior Football Camp at Spain’s La Manga Club this summer.
Five-time World Footballer of the Year Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas are just three of the players to have used the Spanish champions’ illustrious academy on their way to global stardom, and budding stars can follow in their footsteps at the camp, which will be staged at La Manga Club for the fourth year running.
Taking place from July 24-28, children can train using the same methods as Barcelona’s stars, as well as learning the club’s core values including leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork and self-control that have brought them consistent success on the domestic and world stage.
Open to girls and boys between the ages of six and 17, the popular camp includes five hours’ daily training from Barcelona’s official coaches, recreational activities and lunch.
In addition, those taking part will also receive a diploma for their attendance and two training kits, plus the chance to win signed shirts from Barcelona’s first team and the possibility for the best player during the week to train with the FCBESCOLA, the FC Barcelona Football School.
Prices start at €495 (approx £420) per person for a week-long training programme, while children can attend the football camp on an individual basis including six nights’ full board accommodation in the resort’s five-star four-star Las Lomas Village for €985 (approx £840) per person.
La Manga Club’s appeal as a world-class destination for football’s biggest names is stronger than ever, with no fewer than 75 clubs from 19 different countries having made their way to the award-winning venue for training camps this winter including Liverpool, Shakhtar Donetsk, Vfl Wolfsburg and the England Women’s team.
With extensive facilities including eight FIFA-approved grass pitches, La Manga Club has made a name for itself as a first-choice destination for warm-weather football training breaks
As well as its football amenities, the resort boasts a fully-equipped gym and indoor swimming pool, ideal for recovery sessions; a host of rooms and spaces to cater for tactical meetings, private team dining and a new High Performance Sports Centre, where players can use the most advanced technology possible to study all aspects of their health and training programmes.
