Lao Cai is the venue of 2017 National Tourism

2017 National TourismRepresentatives from the Government and, local officials and cultural counselors from Thailand, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Laos were present at the opening ceremony of 2017 national tourism year at Lao Cai City. The theme of this year’s event was ‘northwest colors’.

The ceremony was an opportunity for the locals to promote tourism and strength and attracting international and domestic travelers. Besides, it also acts like a bridge to enhance tourism among locals across the country.

The importance of the event, and its further plans to start various activities that would eventually turn tourism into a key economic sector of the country as expressed by Nguyen Van Binh, head the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission and the Steering Committee for the Northwestern Region in his opening speech. He believes that tourism sector in the region and Vietnam will make major developments in 2017. Nevertheless, the limitations in the quality of tourism products, infrastructure and environmental sanitation and human resources make Vietnam in need of attention and upliftment. Determination and total engagement of the political system in solving the aforesaid difficulties in Vietnam can only bring competitiveness in the tourism market.
