The Latin America Travel Association (LATA) has announced its plans to conduct travel roadshows in Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester in November with an aim to capitalize on an 11% growth in the number of UK tourists to this part of the world.
The insight report of the association for 2017 has revealed that as much as 60% of the travel agents have spoken about a rise South America bookings over the last year.
Tony Mason who is the chief executive of LATA stated that they were looking forward to hosting these roadshows in the cities outside London where they hope to reach travel agents who might be eager to know more about Latin America. They are hopeful to host the maximum number of roadshows.
The number of UK tourists to Latin America have risen by 11% over the last year. On the other hand, the tourist visitation from Peru is up by 9.7%, Colombia up by 11.4% and Chile up by 11%.
Brazil has also witnessed a rise in UK tourist arrivals and also for travel bookings.
The most popular age group us that between 55 and 64 that comprised about a third of the travel bookings. According to Mason, the research also indicated that the out of the trip sold by travel operators to Latin America, nearly 81% focused on heritage, culture and history while 86% highlighted nature and wildlife.
The membership of the association had increased by 10% since the year 2016.
Mason had demonstrated the rise in operators and agents engaging within the area. LATA’s Experience Latin America would be conducted from 12th to 14th June in Canary Wharf in London. It would be featuring 130 exhibitors including operators and tourist boards.
