Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, June 2nd 2015: The host venue for the Alstom Open de France and the 2018 Ryder Cup matches has celebrated its 25th Anniversary by bringing together six hundred overseas and national golfers to attend the first edition of the International Golf Week. This outstanding week took place from May 10th to 16th 2015 on the Albatros and Aigle golf courses.
English, Scottish, Belgian, Swiss, French: about six hundred golfers were there, at Le Golf National, to participate in one or several of the six original competitions staged during the week.
Golfers enjoyed a new, comprehensive and exclusive experience with VIP breakfast, tee-gift, warm-up balls, lunch box, green-fee, prize giving and Champagne cocktails every day. Previously unseen challenges such as targeting a gong or the drum of a washing machine gathered many golfers seeking for new sensations, besides being entirely satisfied by the three brilliant shows given by David Edwards, the internationally renowned English trick show man and world record holder.
Seven Title Partners richly provided every competition: Maurice Heritage, Wilson Golf, Decayeux and Backskin, Durfors-Vivens and Argolf, Golfbreaks.com, Mizuno and Normandy Tourist Board. The French bank Caisse d’Epargne and the Council of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines also supported the French golf federation’s facility.
All-inclusive packages including onsite accommodation and an exceptional commission of 20% were offered to help tour operators sell this 2015 highlight at the best price. Similar packages and conditions will be available for sales after summer break to promote the 2016 Edition.
Paul Armitage, General Manager of Le Golf National, said: « Celebrating Le Golf National’s 25th Anniversary Events through the International Golf Week was so exciting. I would like to especially congratulate my team for having created and operated this fantastic event together with the Novotel teams, our partners, the Council of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines – our loyal support and my friend David Edwards. All of them were with us to make our clients live a memorable experience. Golfers told us they had already saved the date in May 2016 to be part of the 2nd Edition!”
