Using a combination of 3D animation and motion capture, the virtual miniature chef will accompany diners on a journey of flavour discovery, and ‘cook’ an enticing six-course menu live at the table before it is presented by the Al Fresco team. The meal begins with an amuse-bouche, which is then followed by two starters and a refreshing palate-cleansing sorbet, before guests choose from three main courses, and finally, a dessert.
Taking place over the next three months, Le Petit Chef is back in the Capital following a successful visit to the awarded steakhouse, The Forge restaurant, last year. The result of a meeting of minds between a painter and visual artist, this unique way of dining was first introduced in 2015, and has since traveled the world, entertaining dinners in Saint Petersburg, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
This year’s experience is inspired by the celebrity chef’s own personal journey of discovery. Having read the stories of Marco Polo, Le Petit Chef left his restaurant in Paris and travelled the world to seek out new flavours. Departing from the port of Marseille, he followed the Silk Road passing by Arabia and then onto Asia. Now on his journey home, Le Petit Chef joins the culinary team at Al Fresco restaurant to present his new menu, one that has never been presented before.
The set menu is available any day of the week at 7 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. for AED375++ including soft beverages and mocktails until the end of May.
