Documents of 413 flights said that the conditions in which a plane’s handbrake was left on during take-off criticised the concerned pilot for a “dangerous landing”. Another staff member complained the hours he was working were “illegal”.
More than 40 instances have been leaked with the documents stating how the airline’s scheduling does not give them a chance the pilots to rest properly before their next flight.
According to one of the pilots, it is technically very unsafe as well as unhelpful for the crewing to continually ask the crew to go into discretion, more so when the crew have accepted they don’t feel safe to continue into discretion. The report also added that once the crew have made the statement, it should be considered as the final word. With overtiring schedules, it may cause additional delays, disruption and end up at an out station. It is next to unacceptable when a pilot is applied pressure, however pleasantly it is done, to doing something that is unprofessional as well as dangerous.
The other reports said that the issues including medical emergencies, a mid-flight bomb scare and lasers being shone at pilots were also raised. The leaked reports come less than four months after the airline saw its first fatal crash.
However, Flydubai assured that it follows all official safety regulations and added that pilots were encouraged to report concerns so they could be dealt with.
