Lebanon is a country of diverse atmosphere and ancient history that can be highly inspiring for visitors. From Stone Age settlements to Phoenician city-states, Lebanon’s archaeological and historical sites are popular throughout the country and the world.
The Ministry of Tourism in Lebanon played an important role in promoting the country’s tourism, with major tourism projects launched and promoting Lebanese attractions in neighboring countries, which remain the largest tourist market for Lebanon.
In 2016, according to Lebanon Ministry of Tourism, 1.69 million tourists from all nationalities visited the country. The ministry also supports establishment of more than 100 international and local festivals attracting tourists from all over the world.
The Lebanon Ministry of Tourism also anticipates an influx of tourists this summer. The National Museum of Beirut is a huge attraction for tourists with a collection of more than 10000 objects, which are mostly medieval finds and antiquities.
Byblos is a Mediterranean city in the Mount Lebanon Governorate, which has now been listed under UNESCO World Heritage Site.
