With seasons passing by and new season welcoming, Spring break 2017 is now a history and schools have opened as well. The snowbirds are flying north with less crowded streets, now we can get into our favorite restaurants without waiting in that long queue. With this new season, Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau, are looking forward to rejoice and enjoy tourism as we all head toward National Travel and Tourism Week starting from May 7-13 this year.
VCB is all set to identify the ones who contribute to the economic engine of this place – tourism. Local individuals and businesses will be honored with Chrysalis Awards at the annual Celebration of Business & Tourism Awards Luncheon and Trade Show on April 28 of this month. It will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa. Co-produced by the Fort Myers Chamber and the VCB, the awards will give tribute to the recipients in the categories of Business Development, Eco-Innovation, Cultural Achievement, Education, Sports and Sales & Marketing.
The Lee County Travel Rally starts from May 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lakes Regional Park in Fort Myers. Mark in your calendars. Tourism partners, their employees and families, along with their community for three hours of fun will participate at this free event.
