This Wednesday, representatives of Leitrim County Council met with the senior executives from Tourism Ireland in New York on St. Patrick’s Day. They were introduced and highlighted on the various aspects of the Tourism Ireland’s extensive promotional program for 2017 which is taking place at this moment.
2016 was the fourth successive record-breaking year for tourism of Ireland and this time they aim to target the same or may be more by prioritizing North America this year.
It’s generally being considered that North American market is famous for its good return on investment, in terms of expenditure and vacationers. ‘Culturally curious’ and ‘social energizer’ audiences remains the chief target offering unique vacation experiences, events and special offers made to suit their interests only.
Ireland tourism is all geared up to be conspicuous in the US this year by stressing unforgettable experiences like the Causeway Coastal Route, Wild Atlantic Way, and Ireland’s Ancient East. Through promotional campaigns it’s being aimed to boost travel to various Irish destinations during peak seasons.
To quote Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, ‘’ We were delighted to meet with the representatives of Leitrim County Council and to have the opportunity to brief them about the extensive promotional program we are undertaking in the United States this year. Our ambition is to surpass the record-breaking performance of 2016 and to deliver a +9% increase in revenue and a +6% increase in visitor numbers from North America in 2017 i.e. €1.6 billion generated by 1.7 million visitors.’’
