The 2nd edition of Duck Festival will attract 20,000 visitors to Huaral Province in Lima. The 2-day event will take place on Feb 18-19 at Las Dalias Sports Complex in Huaral Province, located 78 km north of Lima’s Metropolitan Area.
The event is endorsed by Lima Regional Government, as well as the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry.
The free event will promote the city’s iconic ‘pato en aji’, Huaral-styled spicy duck stew. For this mouth-watering dish, the duck is seasoned and marinated in beer or chicha de jora before adding pungent amarillo (yellow), mirasol and panca chili peppers for a spicy edge.
But stars do not stand alone, and pato en aji is no exception. Thus, the foodie fest will also feature other traditional Huaral dishes for those seeking a varied menu.
Visitors will also get to enjoy a music show by local artists, AHORA-Huaral Chairwoman Rosa Elena Balcazar affirmed.
The event will also offer other duck-based dishes such as pato a la uva (grape duck), pato a la mandarina (tangerine duck), pato acevichado (cebiche-styled duck) and arroz con pato (Peruvian-styled rice with duck), among others.
