Simon Press, Senior Exhibition Director, World Travel Market, speaks exclusively to Travel And Tour World at WTM 2016. Read the full interview here:-
Travel And Tour World: Can you tell us what is different this year at WTM 2016?
Simon Press: At WTM 2016 we have gone from a four day to a three day show. We have been listening to our visitors, our exhibitors and our clients over the years and we have showed them why Great Britain is the right place to do the business.
The first day kicked off with a Speed Networking session where we had two hundred ten pre selected buyers in Great Big Room meeting all the exhibitors prior to the show starting. The second day was the Responsible Tourism Day. The final day we had ministers coming. There has been fantastic reception. All the new initiatives, four different new channels, great food and great chats as well. So that’s World Travel Market 2016.
Travel And Tour World: What is that one key message that you would like to give the people attending WTM 2016?
Simon Press: Lear. Listen. That is what we have been doing from the organiser’s perspective. Be flexible with the constantly changing format. Despite this changing format, people are still visiting this fantastic travel show over the years.
