The Country Liberals are on track with the roll out of their Litchfield National Park upgrades. Tolmer Falls are the next cab off the rank to have their face lift as part of this $10.43 million government investment with new facilities taking the visitor experience to a new high.
Litchfield National Park is one of the Territory’s most popular tourist attractions and it plays a key role in supporting, building and enhancing the Territory’s tourism industry and the Territory’s reputation as a must see destination.
Almost 330,000 people visited Litchfield National Park in 2015 and existing attractions, facilities and infrastructure are struggling to meet increased demand due to its rising popularity.
Minister Price said “I’m confident that our government is on track to prepare our parks and wildlife areas for the increased level of activity and the employment outcomes are positive. Developing the North means many more people will be exposed to the beauty of this country and a better understanding of our wildlife.”
The extensive works include construction of a new elevated function shelter and raised walkway, the construction of 4 new picnic shelters and the replacement of an existing track with DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliant concrete path.
Minister Price says she is pleased to know the popular Tolmer Falls upgrades will commence soon in preparation for the dry season.
“The Country Liberals Government is committed to Developing the North whilst maintaining our natural assets for all to enjoy.”
