Mark played some sparkling golf to secure his second County title in spite of some spirited play from his rival Charlie, who managed to get the game back to all square after eight holes. It was Mark’s combination of power and deadly putting that eventually proved too much for his opponent.
In the semi-finals, Mark overcame a strong performance from Robin Orchison from Walmer & Kingsdown to win 3&2 to secure his place in the Championship Final against Charlie, who defeated U18 County player, Ben Quinney of Bearsted Golf Club by 2 holes.
Mark previously clinched the County Championship title back in 2014 at Sundridge Park and on that occasion he went on to win the National title later that year at Woodhall Spa. He will be hoping to repeat his victory in September when he returns to Woodhall Spa in the National Final representing Kent.
