Scottish regional carrier Loganair has extended its market reach and customers now have easier access to its fares through Sabre Corporation’s travel marketplace. The move will enable the airline to increase its traveller base and build its reputation as an independent airline.
The re-launch marks the start of a new phase for Loganair, which ceased its franchise agreement with Flybe this month. As of mid-August, thousands of corporate and leisure travel agents across Europe now have the ability to purchase Loganair’s fares through the Sabre Red platform.
“We are committed to growing our network of regional flights and improving connections between major UK hubs,” said Kay Ryan, Commercial Director at Loganair. “Corporate travel is a huge focus for us as we look to connect the country’s thriving industrial regions and provide more opportunities for people to travel from their local airports. We teamed up with Sabre to offer more access to our content for our agency partners and make it easier for businesses and consumers alike to access our fares.”
Headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, Loganair operates almost 30 routes across the UK, Ireland and Norway. The airline is relied upon by the public sector and local businesses; it already provides a vital service to the Scottish Health Board, transporting its staff between regional bases across the country. It also plays a key role in the timely delivery of mail, operating a crucial night flight service for Royal Mail.
“Loganair has a clear path for growth, and Sabre’s technology will drastically extend its reach,” said Alessandro Ciancimino, vice president EMEA, Travel Network, Sabre. “By making its flights available to book trough Sabre, the airline will broaden its corporate traveller base, further helping to boost industry in many parts of the UK. Agents will be able to offer more choice and better service to their travellers and Loganair will build on its reputation as one of the most important and essential airlines serving Scotland and the north.”
Sabre provides technology and content to more than 425,000 travel agents – connecting travellers with flights, hotel and travel services from suppliers all over the world.
