Due to damaged overhead wires there was a major disruption in the rail line between London and Luton, but it has reopened now.

The line was shut and rail passengers were not able to travel between the Bedfordshire town and London St Pancras.

As per the East Midlands Trains specialist equipment was required to repair the wires at Cricklewood.

The customers were informed that if they were already using alternative routes, their tickets would be accepted. Further the passengers were advised how to claim compensation if they were delayed by more than 30 minutes.

Some of the passengers took to twitter and expressed their frustration of standing at Luton and no one informed them about anything.

There were children and elderly people waiting  and it was very cold there.

Another passenger Rob Dracup stated of getting a completely full bus replacement from Luton to St Albans.

He had to pay for a taxi at his ‘own expense’ due to lack of buses. He went on saying that the East Midlands Trains might not have caused the issue but they could not manage the consequences.
