This Estonia-based taxi app said that it is planning to start offering rides in the UK capital on Tuesday, that is 5th September where it would be competing with the likes of Mytaxi that was formerly known as Hailo, Gett and Uber.
Founded in the year 2013, Taxify operates in around 25 cities in as many as 19 nations, mostly concentrated in eastern and central Europe.
The other cities include Nairobi in Kenya, Mexico City, Cairo, Paris, Baku in Azerbaijan and the Iraqi capital in Baghdad.
The company said that it would only charge drivers 15% commission that was lower as compared to the rate of Uber charging about 20 to 25%. As ca launch promotion, Taxify is offering a discount of 50% on fares till the end of September.
Unlike some of its competitors, Taxify mentioned that its customers would be able to pay by cash and even through the app. Furthermore they would also be able to text drivers for free about pick-ups.
