It is believed that the dream jars themselves belong to The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) who mislaid them during his night-time wanderings blowing dreams for the children of the world. Follow The BFG Dream Jar Trail to help the friendly giant find his missing jars.
Roald Dahl’s beloved character, The BFG, and his unlikely friend, Sophie, are hitting UK cinemas inThe BFG movie from 22 July, in what is promising to be one of the most magical live action Steven Spielberg movies ever.
Each giant jar will contain the dreams of celebrities and top artists such as Steven Spielberg, Sophie Dahl, Quentin Blake, Nadiya Hussain of Bake Off fame, Paralympian David Weir, Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams and Arsenal Football Club.
Every jar will have a unique design and will be placed in a “splendiferous” London location. You’ll be able to see them in iconic spots such as Trafalgar Square, Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, St Paul’s Cathedral, Leicester Square, Tower of London and the home of Roald Dahl himself, Great Missenden; but you’ll have to wait to find out exactly where and what they all are.
The jars will be auctioned after the trail in aid of Save the Children, as well as Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. So you could even own your very own dream jar and give children in the UK and around the world the chance to dream big and fulfil their potential.
The BFG Dream Jar Trail is run in conjunction with Roald Dahl 100, which is celebrating 100 years since the author’s birth with a series of events and activities throughout the UK.
