As many as 400 taxis in London have started promoting the various tourist destinations of Indonesia by placing their advertisements on their sides ever since 17th October. This system is a part of the tourism ministry of Indonesia’s attempt to attract an increasing number of tourists to the archipelago. This marketing campaign would continue for one month.
The advertisements include the pictures of different tourist locales of the country of Indonesia and this includes the destinations like Lake Toba, Mount Bromo and Borobudur Temple.
Elizabeth Hutagoal, the head of foreign tourism marketing development communications of the Indonesia tourism ministry said that such a strong promotion activity would draw in more Londoners or tourists from other parts of the world to visit Indonesia.
Similar promotional activities were conducted during last year.
However, that had been done only on the 190 London black cabs.
Apart from taxis, the government has also been advertising the tourist locales of Indonesia on the 640 square-meter billboard of the city. Besides this, the images of Indonesia’s locales are also believed to be advertised on five buses in London. They would be advertised on the buses from 31st October till 27th November.
