The Qantas can offer discounted tickets to regional WA destinations like Broome for London tourists on the non-stop 17.5-hour flights. This is actually a spin-off of a $12.9 million marketing partnership with Tourism WA.
Sally Hollins, Willie Creek Pearls chief executive expressed that the industry would swoop on a lucrative marketing opportunity that ranges a value from $500 to $5000 respectively. She also mentioned that 90 percent of the market of her company was occupied by Australian tourists.
“The direct London-to-Perth flight may be a gamechanger,” Mrs Hollins said.
“We have to play to our strengths … our beautiful pearls, our beautiful wines, our beautiful food, our beautiful landscapes. It’s unique and it’s us. We need to tell our story and I think we can take these pearls to the world.”
Back in April, the seats on the Perth-London flights went on a sale. However, from March 2018, the service will start.
Qantas’ collaboration with tourism WA has allocated funds to endorse the State in Britain and Europe. In 2016, the deal with Tourism WA was changed with new target areas like New Zealand, the US, Singapore and the rest of Australia. It also comprises encouragement via events, destinations and experiences time to time.
