His term of office as a member of the Supervisory Board will end on the same date. Adler is thus no longer willing to extend his employment contract, as he had contemplated earlier.

He said that Adler has been a convinced and convincing advocate for the interests of the company’s employees and a very responsible Chairman of the Central Works Council. “I have great respect for his life’s work,” Joe Kaeser said.

Berthold Huber, First Chairman of IG Metall and First Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG, said: “Lothar Adler is an exemplary, straightforward and courageous Chairman and member of the IG Metall trade union. He deserves a great deal of respect from all of us for successfully working for the interests of employees.”
