Travel professionals in Kentucky were honored for their talent, creativity and effectiveness in marketing and public relations.
The Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau was honored with the prestigious “Most Innovative” Award, which is given to the most out-of-the-box entry, for its “7 Secrets of Highly Effective Meeting Planners” marketing campaign.
The LCVB was also recognized with five first-place awards. The Bourbon Brief newsletter, “How To Do the Urban Bourbon Trail” promotional video,“7 Secrets of Highly Effective Meeting Planners” print advertisement, Bourbon Country in Atlanta out-of-home advertising campaign, and the LCVB’s social media campaign all received top honors.
Three second-place and four honorable-mention awards were also handed out to the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Other Louisville attractions honored with Traverse Awards include the Kentucky Derby Museum, the Muhammad Ali Center, the Kentucky State Fair Board and the Louisville Zoo.
The 2013 Traverse Awards were presented during the Kentucky Tourism Industry Association’s annual conference, which was held in Louisville Nov. 6-8 at the Seelbach Hilton. A panel of industry experts in the areas of marketing, public relations and tourism professionals from outside of Kentucky judged the entries.
The Kentucky Travel Industry Association is a Frankfort-based organization that represents every segment of Kentucky’s tourism industry.
