On Monday 3 April, Florian Bokrant won the title of German Master at the “Concours National des Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs” cooking competition in Frankfurt am Main. The competition of the “Chaîne des Rôtisseur”, an international association of top chefs, has seen young chefs from upmarket German restaurants compete against each other for 40 years. Florian Bokrant, demi chef de cuisine at the Lufthansa Seeheim conference hotel, won against ten other participants. In September, the 24 year old chef will once again have the opportunity to prove his skills during the world championship.

The task was to prepare a three-course meal during the cooking competition in accordance with the rules of “Chaîne mondial”, and which all participants had to do within a certain time frame and not one second more. This year the young chefs’ shopping baskets contained crayfish, char, Jerusalem artichoke, pigeon, apples, pears and craft beer, among other things. Bokrant created his winning meal using these ingredients, and was by far the best contestant.
