Macao has opened a tourism promotion event in Malaysia this week for attract high-value visitors from middle-haul markets and promote multi-destination tourism. It was said by the special administrative region’s tourism department on Thursday.
The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) launched “Experience Macao-Malaysia” in the central district of Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, showcasing Macao’s diversities in tourism, culture, sports and gastronomy for Malaysian citizens, travel trade and media to experience. The event which went on for five days also promoted multi-destination tourism with the tourism authorities of China’s Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian.
MGTO said that it was part of Macao’s attempt to offer its wonderful features as a world tourism and leisure center and tap its variety of visitor markets and attract high-value visitations from middle-haul markets to Macao and other destinations.
On the first day of promotion, many travel agencies offered unique travel packages to Macao as well as other multi-destination tourism products in different combinations, such as Guangdong-Macao, Guangxi-Macao, Fujian-Macao, Hong Kong-Macao and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao.
