MakeMyTrip collaborates with Travelport

MAKEMYTRIP_-_TRAVELPORTIndia’s largest online travel directory and travel agency MakeMyTrip has signed a business agreement with Travelport’s distributor in India, InterGlobe Technology Quotient (ITQ) for the use of Travelport’s Travel Commerce Platform.



Under the agreement, MakeMyTrip can enlarge the use of Travelport’s technology in India from the Ibibo Group to MakeMyTrip’s other primary distribution channels starting in the second half of calendar year 2017.




MakeMyTrip has undertaken a strategic business combination with Ibibo Group in January 2017. It has acquired its 100% equity interest.



Travelport, the travel technology company headquartered in United Kingdom, is working in conjunction with ITQ which operates its distributor in India, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.




This will make available to MakeMyTrip and its travel content features with the real time access to approximately 400 airlines for the air travel, business travel and the family travel.



Gordon Wilson, Travelport’s president and CEO said that India is a growing and matured travel market with mammoth growth potential where Travelport, working with our distributor ITQ, has grown in air booking terms by 14% in the first half of 2017 when the GDS air market has grown by 11%.

The investment of ITQ in local support and infrastructure for the Travelport platform in the markets can operate and has enabled the business in providing the sort of service and local touch.



This local business touch is linked to the global capabilities of Travelport which can enable to win the customer of this caliber.




The Indian travel brand MakeMyTrip, Goibibo and redBus receives over 33 million visits via its desktop and mobile application platforms. It serves over 40 million mobile app active users each month.
