Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin who is its deputy minister said that last year Malaysia had been capable of luring a record 26.8 million tourists and out of this volume of tourist arrivals, only 10,717 were from Kazakhstan. She added that the projection of this year is likely to be achieved thanks to the launching of the Holiday and Shopping Packages that are being offered with prices between US$690 and US$1,078 starting this month inwards till November.
She also mentioned that the packages provide various product choices including the cultural and shopping package and also comprises return flight tickets to Kuala Lumpur and a seven-night stay and transportation from the airport.
The second choice represents a beautiful beach package that is inclusive of return flight tickets to Langkawi and Sabah while the other one is the education package. These packages are actually a collaboration between Tourism Malaysia and Kompas Tour, a local tour operator.
Mas Ermiyati also asserted that her ministry has been making attempts to sell 1,000 special packages with a sales volume of about US$1.3 million.
She is confident that these packages would be instrumental in raising the visitor arrivals from various nations in the Central Asian region especially the ones like Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. She concluded by saying that Malaysia is an excellent hub of tourism boasting of unique products enriched in flavors of racial diversity.
