Malaysians have been advised by their Ministry of Foreign Affairs to postpone non-essential travel to the Catalonia region in Spain in view of the current circumstances in the area as there have been major protests which began on Oct 13, 2019.
Wisma Putra (Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry) issued the advice in a statement Wednesday.
“Malaysians who are visiting Barcelona and the Malaysian community residing in Catalonia are advised to give utmost priority to their safety and avoid the areas of rallies and demonstrations.
“They are also advised to follow instructions issued by the local authorities. The ministry will continue to monitor the situation closely,” it said.
