Three tourist destinations in Terengganu, Malaysia will be the lucky recipient of a new electric trishaw service which will be introduced this September. The electric trishaw will retain its traditional features.
“As a start, four of these trishaws have been handed over to a company to operate, and they will be handled by youths,” Chief Minister Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman.
The trishaws, which cost RM8,000 to RM10,000 would operate at Syahbandar, Kampung Cina and Pulau Warisan.
The Chief Minister tried out the new trishaw himself at the State Tourism Department’s Hari Raya gathering in Kuala Nerus.
“The price for the tickets will be around RM15 to RM20 (US$1=RM4.36) depending on the travel distance and (other) current situations,” he said.
