Malta as a Top Quality ELT destination in the English Language Teaching sector was highlighted by Dr Odette Vassallo, English as a Foreign Language Monitoring Board Member, in a presentation delivered at the ICEF Workshop in Berlin on 3 November 2013. This workshop is the world’s largest and most comprehensive education-focused networking event of its kind.
Renowned as the most important event for international educators, premium agents, work and travel professionals, as well as leading industry service providers, the ICEF Berlin Workshop attracts around 2,000 participants representing more than 1,200 organisations from 94 countries and 6 continents.
The EFL Monitoring Board is a regulatory body that is primarily responsible for checking the academic services offered by all EFL schools in Malta. It actively participated in the workshop in line with its mission to promote Malta as a quality ELT destination overseas.
In her presentation to agents and educators attending the ICEF Workshop, Ms Vassallo emphasised the fact that Malta was the first country to enact legislation to regulate the EFL industry and is nowadays considered a top quality destination by students wishing to improve their English language proficiency.
Ms Vassallo spoke about the various policies implemented by the EFL Monitoring Board to guarantee quality English language teaching in the 42 licensed EFL Schools in Malta. These measures ensure that students who choose to study English in Malta benefit from a superlative learning experience combined with the unique culture and heritage the country has to offer.
