An Australian man, identified as ‘Joshua’, won his own exotic Pacific island resort in exchange for a raffle ticket, worth only 49 USD. New South Wales’ Joshua is now the proud owner of the 16-room resort of Kosrae in Micronesia.
The Kosrae Nautilus Resort was previously owned by the Australian founders, Doug Beitz and Sally Beitz. The two previous owners organised a draw to handover the scenic lodge to someone adventurous, who would like warm weather and meeting new people from all over the world.
The winning ticket number ‘44,980’ was drawn on Tuesday, 26th July, in the evening.
Beitz tracked down the lucky new owner of the resort with great difficulty to give him the life-changing news. Doug Beitz was the one to reveal Joshua’s identity to the world.
The Kosrae Nautilus Resort is situated on Kosrae’s Micronesian island, in the north of the Solomon Islands and in the west of Hawaii. The resort was built in the year 1994.
Instead of selling their property in a traditional way, Doug and Sally Beitz took their son’s advise and decided to sell it through a lucky draw. They sold tens of thousands of tickets around the globe for the draw.
In very near future Joshua will take the ownership of the debt-free and profitable resort with more than 20 years of lease.
