This will be the group’s first Caribbean hotel operating in the Canouan Island in St Vincent and the Grenadines and will be known as the Mandarin Oriental, Canouan.
The portfolio of the new Residences at Mandarin Oriental will be managed close to the hotel and is scheduled to be available in 2020.
The Canouan Island is five square miles and includes an 18-hole Jim Fazio designed golf course.
The hotel has 26 suites, infinity pool, spa and a health club along with two over water treatment cabanas which are accessible by boat and 12, three and four bedroom villas each having a private pool.
Canouan Developmnet Corporation is involved in developing around 1300 acres of land in the north of the island. The portfolio will also include the L’Ance Guyac Beach club and other restaurants, tennis and water facilities.
Mandarin hotels is currently operating in 30 hotels in 20 countries and territories.
James Riley, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group said that he was delighted to introduce the brand in the Caribbean and infuse the group’s legendary service and quality standards to the island.
Located on the east coast of the island it will turn out to be the Caribbean’s most exclusive gateway. It can be reached 20 minute flight via the hotel’s private jets from Barbados, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and other Caribbean gateway.
