Taipei Film Festival
One of Taiwan’s biggest cultural events, the annual Taipei Film Festival will screen 160 films from more than 40 countries, representing the best of the world’s most beautiful cinematography. Films ranging from features to documentaries will be screened at a variety of cinemas in the city during the festival from 30 June to 16 July. Dragon Boat Festival
Taiwan’s hugely popular Dragon Boat Festival will be held from 9 to 11 June this year, with 200 dragon boat teams battling at Da-Jia Riverside Park for a one million dollar prize. A competition for making Zong-zi, the pyramid-shaped dumpling of glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves that locals like to eat at the festival, will be held too. Other traditional activities at the event that will appeal to visitors of all ages, include “Make the egg stand”.
“Fans of Champagne” at The Jade Lounge
Midsummer evenings are for sipping Champagne and savouring exquisite canapes with loved ones, so Mandarin Oriental, Taipei will present “Fans of Champagne” at The Jade Lounge each night from 5:30 pm. Guests can choose from a variety of selected Champagnes, delicious canapes and fresh, French oysters. Summer Rejuvenation at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Taipei
