Most recently, Knuepfer served as Hotel Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Taipei where he oversaw the hotel’s day-to-day operations of 301 guest rooms, 26 residences, 11 food and beverage outlets, banquet facilities for up to 1,480 guests, 12 spa treatment rooms and extensive wellness facilities. With over 13 years of experience with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Knuepfer held other key positions including Executive Assistant Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore; Director of Food and Beverage at Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai; and Assistant Director of Food and Beverage Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur.
Knuepfer received a diploma in Hotel Management at the International School for Hotel & Catering Business in Munich, Germany. Continuing his education, Knuepfer earned certificates in Hospitality Management with majors in Finance, Marketing and Human Resources at Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration from the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
