For improving the arrival experience of passengers at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport, the Marianas Visitors Authority has introduced Saipan airport ambassadors for assisting passengers through immigration processing and customs inspections.
The program launched on August 11th has Saipan airport ambassadors on duty during peak arrival hours from 1am to 5am when thousands of passengers arrive from China, Korea, and other destinations.
According to the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer, the Marianas was recently ranked the third-fastest growing tourist destination in the world. Over the last 10 months, the islands have received over half a million visitors.
MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion said, “Tourism arrivals are growing, and as we work with federal and local partners on ways to quicken immigration and customs processing, we have deployed Saipan airport ambassadors to get passengers through the airport and started on their vacation or business in the Marinas as efficiently as possible.”
Ambassadors will assist passengers with completing immigration and customs forms, guide them to their appropriate immigration line, assist with the use of automated passport control machines, and more. They would be wearing bright yellow polo shirt uniforms.
