Massachusetts administration considering new hotel taxations for short term rentals

Massachusetts administrationThe administration of Massachusetts is considering on taxation for short term rentals as there is a long drawn debate which looks a closer step to the passage by setting up new tax rules for the booming industry.

 

 

The bill would extend the 5.7 percent state hotel tax to include short-term rentals and allow cities and towns to levy taxes of their own.

 

 

Both Airbnb and the Massachusetts Lodging Association have both criticized the taxation bill, though for different reasons.

 

 

If the taxation reformation will happen then it will be beneficial for the tourists and the students, who come to Massachusetts to study or for long holidays.
