Mauritius has claimed that it has witnessed an 8% rise in tourist arrivals from India during the initial six months of 2017, as compared to the same period last year, as per the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA).
As part of its promotion plan, MTPA India had organized roadshows in the tier II and tier III cities of India and also various seminars for the travel agents and familiarization trips, wedding planners and media in the initial first half of the year. Starting from July, MTPA would be organizing a four-city roadshow in August 2017 in the cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi.
With an aim to engage the consumers to a large extent, MTPA India- Indian office is planning to host shoots for television shows, films, celebrity over fashion and cover shoots.
The continuous rise in tourist arrivals from India is a direct consequence of strategic industry partnerships to offer a generous boost to raise the market awareness for Mauritius as a premier wedding, MICE and leisure destination.
The Country Manager of MTPA India, Vivek Anand said that their brand positioning emphasizes on the natural beauty of Mauritius as well as its activities for a wide range of travellers.
He added that they are making efforts to work closely with the best trade stakeholders of India to ensure that this country is promoted as one of the best choices in terms of a tourist destination. These activities, he said would also continue in the second half of 2017.
