‘London’s Autumn Season’ was launched at the Natural History Museum this week.
The mayor mentioned that London being the world’s greatest city should lead when it comes to international tourism.The Londoners should benefit from the growth in tourism by motivating them to visit the city during off season.
The projected growth in visitor number is expected to be sustainable. London’s tourism industry contributes to 11.6 percent of the capital’s GDP.
The visitors will explore the city’s treasures and visit the world-leading exhibitions and shows like the MTV European Music Awards, the Museums at the Night festival the Hamilton.
London & Partners predicts the tourism numbers to rise massively expecting 40 million people to visit the city by 2025. There will be an increase of 30 per cent on the 31.2 million visitors who visited the capital in the year 2016.
The spending of the visitors is also expected to increase reaching £22 billion a year from £14.9 billion in 2016.
As per the Google report, London leads worldwide destination like Barcelona, Rome, Paris and Amsterdam. It was observed that the overall number of searches was rose to 17 per cent year –on-year.
