MCEC’s expansion to transform event experience via latest interactive technology

MCECKeeping abreast with constant progresses in the digital world and to deliver technology that revolutionises the event experience, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) has made investments in cutting-edge technologies a month ahead of its latest $200 million expansion.

 

 

In complete sync with the venue’s innovative approach of integrating audio visual and ICT technology the MCEC new expansion wing is purpose built to take it a notch higher.

 

 

The event organisers and attendees can expect a customisable event space with the inclusion of 4k laser projectors, LED based theatrical lighting equipment and fully integrated rigging infrastructure.

 

 

Further the MCEC will be delivering a more personalised and thorough technology offering by introducing a specialised production team within the business.

 

 

From audio, rigging, lighting, vision, multimedia, network systems to production management the MCEC’s in-house specialist technology team offers all.

 

 

Peter King, the MCEC chief executive of MCEC stated that the venue hosts more than 1,000 events annually, each bringing a unique experience in its own. They work in partnership with the customers  to deliver  high-tech solutions aimed at inspiring and transforming the delegates’ experience.

 

 

MCEC further understands the customer’s need and provides access to expert advice along with high technology options that leads to individual customisation.

 

 

MCEC will be investing $2 million in improving the Wi-Fi offering for the customers that will see the wireless capacity going up by 400 percent. With this the MCEC will be the only convention centre in Australia to offer no data caps.

 

 

To deliver visually stunning and technically seamless events, a $1 million investment in expanding vision and projection capabilities by implementing Barco, Panasonic and Roland hardware has been made.

 

 

Peter King further emphasised on their employee skill-base and mentioned that they have the knowledge to deliver complex events and offer solutions focussed customer service.

 

 

Through the new expansion the customer’s technical needs will be met with ease and the convention centre will keep updating in the future.
