Almost 700 people are preparing their costumes and decking out the streets and the doorways of the noble homes in the historic quarter of Briones (La Rioja) in order to recreate the life of a Castilian town in the 14th century.
The activities on offer include a light and sound show which narrates historic events from the 14th century on the balcony of the Palace of San Nicolás when the sun goes down.
There are also re-enactments of the various trades at that time (spinners, weavers, potters…) to be seen in the doorways, in addition to falconry displays, jousting between knights, mediaeval weddings.
The festival brings back medieval times to life. The projections are so realistic that it transforms the visitors to the enacted times.
