American Airlines flight 1086 was diverted to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York around 6:40 pm local time, after the engine started to give troubles. The flight was heading towards Miami from Boston on Sunday 19th June.
The cabin of the flight was filled with smoke after the left engine started to fail. Several of the passengers were panicking after they heard two consecutive explosions. Some passengers even lost their nerves, when they thought the flight to be ablaze.
The American Airlines later declared that the flight was experiencing mechanical issues with the left engine.
The flight was carrying more than 180 passengers and crew members, but no injuries were reported after the flight landed. The engine was sent to be checked by the mechanics to determine the technical cause behind the hindrance.
The American Airlines flight brought humongous distress to the passengers, when they reached Miami from Boston almost after 12 hours. The flight arrived Miami on Monday 20th June. The emergency landing made the flight authority to lose all the belongings of the passengers.
Many passengers have vowed not to travel with American Airlines after they endured a huge delay and loss of their possession.
