The North Campus of Miami Dade College, in partnership with the Consulate General of Mexico, will host a unique exhibit of paintings on canvas titled, “UNDEEP,” by Mexican artist Leni Ibargüengoytia. The Opening Program will take place at 11 a.m. June 3 at the North Campus Library.
UNDEEP will be on display from May 27-June 30. It explores the position of human beings in the current world through figures that seek a sense of their existence in the depth of the sea.
Ibargüengoytia´s exhibition invites us to return to the most accessible and approachable place we have, ourselves. After graduating from Universidad Anáhuac as a graphic designer, Ibargüengoytia worked at J.Walter Thompson in Mexico City and in 1991 she founded Grupo Créatica, a company dedicated to graphic design and corporate incentives programs.
“As we forge initiatives that ‘bring the world to North Campus’ we are very excited to collaborate with the Consulate General of Mexico to present such a formidable collection of art for the enrichment of our students” said North Campus President, Dr. Malou C. Harrison.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. It will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, throughout the display period.
