Michel Barnier: Britons to be barred from carrying pets to the continent

british-travellersBritish families would soon be barred from carrying their pets to the continent of Brexit negotiations collapse eventually, as suggested by the EU chief Michel Barnier.

Michel Barnier said that the collapse of the trade talks is actually a ‘real possibility’ and also cautioned that it is likely to impact the ability of ‘dogs and cats to cross the Channel’.

According to the EU regulations the owners of British cats and dogs only require a ‘pet passport’ that certifies that they have already been vaccinated against rabies to travel within the European Union.

And, P & O Ferries alone said that it had carried over 20,000 pets from Dover to Calais last year.

Jacob Rees-Mogg, an eurosceptic Tory MP mentioned that the idea is quite silly.

He feels that this man cannot be taken quite seriously since he appears to be really absurd with such a concept and he even thinks that it undermines his credibility.
