DRHDestination Resorts & Hotels (DRH) a strategic owner and developer of world class resort destinations welcomed positive comments from Malaysia’s Minister of Tourism and Culture, as their projects make swift progress, building on the countries optimistic tourism outlook. DRH, the strategic owner and developer of world class resorts, exhibited at World Travel Market, where trade and media were being introduced to the projects in Langkawi, Desaru Coast and Kuala Lumpur. Just hours into the show, the Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz met stakeholders on the Malaysia stand. During his visit, he stopped to speak with Darrell Metzger to discuss developments at some of the country’s highest profile developments.

“Our country is blessed with such diversity and has great appeal for travelers around the world. Our tourism infrastructure continues to develop and ‎organizations such as DRH are significant in realising the nation’s vision for sustainable tourism. Desaru Coast and Teluk Datai will be iconic destinations for Malaysia and it is encouraging to hear about DRH’s progress,” commented YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia.

DRH is at the very heart of Malaysia’s blossoming tourism industry. The organization was established by the Malaysian Government’s investment arm, Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”), and is a catalyst for the continued development of Malaysia’s luxury leisure and tourism sector by providing relevant expertise focused on investment, development, management and oversight of world-class premier resorts, hotels and attractions.

Its current key investment portfolio comprises of Desaru Coast, the region’s first integrated luxury destination located at Johor’s Desaru coastline, Little Red Cube and Traders Hotel at the luxury waterfront of Puteri Harbour, Nusajaya along with Teluk Datai, Langkawi, a luxury eco-tourism destination surrounded by ancient rainforest and breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea, including the award-winning The Datai Langkawi.

Working with world renowned and reputable partners that are the best in the industry, DRH is set to expand domestically and internationally as a premier luxury hotel, resort and residences investment, development and management company.

‎”Our developments continue to progress in line with our strategy. It is tremendous to see the reaction from senior figures in Malaysia, who are clearly excited by the prospect of both Desaru Coast and Teluk Datai,” remarked Darrell Metzger, Board of Directors DRH. “We are making preparations for the launch of The Els Club, Teluk Datai early next year, which has received emphatic praise from all who have seen it. Having Ernie Els’ first ever golf design in Asia on Malaysia’s shores demonstrates the strategic moves being made to ensure the future of Malaysia’s tourism is as powerful as it is appealing.”
