The tourism industry and the Ministry of Tourism are quite firm on increasing the finances for endorsing tourism on 2020, Bulgaria’s Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova explained this on July 22nd after the meeting of the National Tourism Council in the Golden Sands Resort near Varna, reports BNT.
For 2020, around 50% more financial assistance will be needed for advertising in comparison to the budget for 2019. It was 11 million BGN. This will meet the challenge of making Bulgaria a popular tourist destination.
Other than advertising, the meeting also talked about trends in the tourism sector.
Minister Angelkova stated that the ministry was organizing meetings with representatives of tour operators from Germany, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, UK, all of which are in the top 10 for Bulgaria.
Talks with the Foreign Affairs Ministry are considered for revising the visa regime with Turkey and Russia.
Also, attention will be made on nontraditional markets. Angelkova mentioned that the ministry is looking at the top 30 and the United States, South Korea, Japan, China, the Middle East as well which are more specific markets and require more targeted and more specific advertising.
