Miss Greece 2017, María Psilou, accepted her Egyptian counterpart’s invitation to visit Egypt. She arrived on Friday, December 22, with an aim of promoting tourism ties between the two Mediterranean countries.
Psilou’s itinerary includes a number of tourist spots to learn more about Egypt’s great history and ancient civilization. She hopes that she can share the information with the people of Greece and encourage them to visit Egypt.
This visit comes as a part of the Miss World protocol, whereby every queen must represent her country globally and build good relations with her counterparts in the world.
The 20-year-old Psilou was crowned as Star Hellas in 2017 and then went on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant. She studies philosophy at the University of Patras.
Miss Egypt, Farah Shabban, and Maria Psilou competed at the 2017 Miss World pageant held in China and there both agreed on a program for encouraging tourism in their respective countries.
